The Nissan Navara Pro is the Frontier Pro pickup under its Middle East name: designed, developed and built in China by Zhengzhou Nissan, and due in the Middle East by the end of 2026 with the ICE (petrol/diesel) powertrain, not the plug-in hybrid. That is what Nissan’s global newsroom said on 8 October 2026. Regional specifications, grades and prices had not been published when this was written on 3 November 2026.
This is a pre-launch guide. Everything below marked “Nissan says” comes from Nissan’s own release; anything not confirmed is labelled as such.

What is the Nissan Navara Pro?
The Navara Pro is the all-new pickup that Nissan sells as the Frontier Pro in Mexico and China, and as the Navara Pro in the Philippines and the Middle East. Nissan says it is the first Nissan model developed and produced in China for global export, made by Zhengzhou Nissan Automobile Co. Ltd, the company’s joint venture there. It has a five-seat cabin and is pitched at work, family and everyday use.
It is a different vehicle from the Zhengzhou-built Navara and Dongfeng Rich 6 pair we compared in Dongfeng Rich 6 vs Nissan Navara. Same factory group, different, newer truck. Do not mix the two when you read a spec sheet.
When does the Navara Pro reach the Middle East?
Nissan says the Middle East launch is in 2026, by the end of the year. The stated order is Mexico first (sales from October 2026), then the Philippines in November, then the Middle East and other Latin American markets by year end, then Australia and New Zealand in 2027.
Nissan has not given a country-by-country date for the Gulf, Levant or North Africa. A Saudi-focused report from 12 October 2026 also says no separate Saudi showroom date, local price or full grade list had been announced. Treat any specific showroom date you are quoted as unconfirmed.
Which engine will Middle East buyers get?
Nissan says the ICE version will be sold in the Middle East, while the PHEV goes to Latin America, ASEAN and Oceania. The PHEV is Nissan’s first electrified pickup, built with 1.5-litre and 2.0-litre plug-in hybrid options, and the release does not list the Middle East among its markets.
What the ICE engine is in the Middle East is the open question. Nissan’s December 2025 China launch release describes the China-market combustion Frontier Pro with a third-generation M9T diesel engine, 500 Nm of torque and a ZF 8-speed automatic. A regional report says Middle East buyers will get turbocharged petrol and diesel options. Nissan’s global release says only “ICE”. Until a regional announcement lists engines and outputs, do not quote a power figure to a customer.
For context only, Nissan’s China PHEV release gives over 300 kW, up to 800 Nm and a 135 km electric range on the NEDC cycle for the 1.5-litre PHEV. Those are China-market PHEV numbers and do not apply to the Middle East version.
Is the Middle East version left-hand drive?
Nissan names Australia and New Zealand as the “first right-hand drive markets”, arriving in 2027. That implies the 2026 launches, Mexico, the Philippines and the Middle East, are left-hand drive. Nissan does not state the steering side for the Middle East in so many words, so confirm it before you commit.

What does this mean for a pickup buyer or dealer?
Three practical points.
- Do not pre-sell a specification. A unit built for China is not automatically the unit the regional Nissan distributor will sell. Emissions rules, fuel quality, cooling, safety and equipment for a Gulf or North Africa market are set country by country.
- Ask who covers the warranty. Nissan has not said how cars sourced outside the official distributor network would be treated. Get the answer in writing from the distributor in your country before you buy from anyone, including us.
- Compare on the same basis. Pickup buyers in the region usually put a new model next to a known one. If you want a lower-cost, tougher alternative to benchmark against, look at our 212 buyers guide and the Hongqi HS5 export guide for how we frame a China-built model for Middle East buyers.
How would you buy and ship one once it is available?
The mechanics do not change with the badge. Check the unit in person or by remote inspection, agree payment terms with the letter of credit vs T/T guide in mind, and line up the export documents. Pickups are tall: ask whether it ships RoRo or in a container, as explained in RoRo vs container shipping and how many cars fit in a container. From Guangzhou, see the Nansha car terminal guide. Cover the voyage with marine cargo insurance and plan for demurrage and storage charges at the port. A condition check such as a vehicle inspection report belongs in the file, and a checklist of import traps and how to vet an export company are worth reading before any deposit.
